Course Details, Fees and Registration

The course will meet at the Young Israel of North Woodmere, 634 Hungry Harbor Rd., North Woodmere, NY 11581. Click here for directions.

Apart from holidays and yeshiva break, the course will meet every Wednesday evening from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Please see our full schedule of classes and instructors for more details.


Have to miss some of the lectures? Not to worry. Click here for archives of all classes already given, including most of the classes given 7 years ago in North Woodmere. Archives are available to registered students only with a valid username and password. We will provide you with the username and password at the classes.

Class Format
Each weekly session covers one book of the Bible in an hour and a half. In addition to sample readings within each lecture, preparation chapters are available in the schedule.

Course Materials
Every session is accompanied by a handout that includes a class outline, chapter summaries of the week's book as well as relevant maps and charts. Anything in Hebrew will be translated into English as well. PLEASE BRING A TANACH WITH YOU TO EVERY LECTURE.

Focus of Study
Classes involve studying traditional texts (available in Hebrew and English), the investigation of key themes, and the presentation of avenues for further study.
